Through a mutual friend, Salv Sacco from the UK, we partenered with Olson Engineering. Olimpiu Daraban was developping parts for his 1800 cc engine, and was planning to built his own company for parts development. I was always in search for workshops able to remanufacture hard to find parts, so we began a fruitful cooperation.

Patrick proposed that I take care of Meca’s Benelux customers as his representative. Soon, I was in charge of English-speaking customers as well. Until the sale of the company in 2012, I worked closely with him developping new parts, finding wholesellers and factories / workshops to extend the Meca products range.

Because I needed parts for my Renault engined cars, I made contact with Patrick Merlin from MecaParts in Bourges (France).

I became a member of the belgian Matra Simca Talbot club. Had a Simca coupé Bertone 1000, a Matra 530 and a Simca Rallye 2.  

My first introduction to the classic car world: the Honda S800. On the first photo, second to the right, Philippe-Georges Hautman, president of the belgian Honda club. I had 2 of them, in need in restauration. This was also my first contact with oldtimers gatherings, ballads and historic rallyes.
